“God loves a cheerful giver”
Kind request from Fr Rector
St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore.
Dear Friend, prayerful greetings from Fr Rector, Staff and students, St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore. We greet you in the name of Jesus. We approach you with a kind and sincere request to come to our help. We are very well aware that you are a person who has helped people in some way or the other and have been always generous.
We are all members of St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore. We have around two hundred students from all over India studying to become priests. We thank the Lord that He chooses people to serve in His mission as priests. Almost all of these young men come from very poor economic background and hence they are not able to pay for their board, lodging and studies. We do get some help from here and there but that is really not sufficient. Besides, we do not have any income. As the days move the cost of living his going very high. Moreover all our buildings are old and they require regular repairs hence every year we need to spend a lot of money on repairs. Hence we are finding very difficult to run this house. Hence we approach you and appeal to your good will and generosity. Perhaps you have already helped so many people, kindly keep us in your mind and we request you to show your generous heart to a noble cause like training of the seminarians. God will surely reward you for the great generosity that you will show towards us. We indicate you different ways to help us. Whatever is within your reach kindly help us. More than two hundred seminarians and priests will pray for you daily during the Mass and during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. You could also send us your intentions of prayer. We will surely pray for you and all your family members and I am sure the prayer of these young seminarians will surely be answered by Jesus our Lord and master. Whenever you visit Mangalore we welcome you whole heartedly to visit our Seminary. Kindly speak about this to your friends also. Here below are the three possibilities that we indicate you. You may choose any one.
Here below we indicate three ways to help us:
1. Full Burse: This consists of One Lakh Rupees deposited in the name of a Seminarian the interest of which is used for the training of one Seminarian. The money could be paid at one stretch or in various installments depending on your capacity. We will assign you a seminarian who would become a priest thanks to your help and will pray for you and your family members always. You may also send more than one burse.
2. Regular Contribution : You could send certain amount of money every month to the Seminary.
3. Any Contribution: however small the amount which you are able to set apart for the training of a seminarian.
